I have worked with the vessel form in its myriad manifestations for many years, reinterpreting its historic and functional aspects into metaphoric ones of society, nature and man.
For more than twenty years I have primarily used two of the most ancient glass techniques to make my work – lost wax casting and glass paste “pate de verre”. These originated in Egypt and Mesopotamia over two thousand five hundred years ago and are still being used today.
I have been employing these methods in a contemporary manner, developing and changing them considerably to meet my creative needs in terms of ideas and concepts.
